Down Payment Assistance In Dayton Ohio For A New Home
Coming up with the required down payment and closing costs to purchase a home – often between $5,000 and $10,000 – can be daunting, especially for first-time homebuyers who may also need to buy furnishings, appliances, and other household items when they purchase a home. In fact, along with tight credit requirements by mortgage lenders, having a down payment is the biggest barrier for buyers.
To help alleviate this challenge for buyers, the City of Dayton has allocated $250,000 to the HomeOwnership Center, which offers multiple programs for first-time homebuyers. Qualified applicants purchasing in Dayton can receive up to 10% of the purchase price of the home to help with down payment and closing costs. The assistance is offered as a 0% deferred second mortgage.
Applicants have access to a HomeOwnership Advisor, a Homebuyer Class, and our Lending Department to review eligibility and connect to a reputable lending partner if they are not already pre-approved. “The HomeOwnership Center is committed to helping first-time homebuyers get the right advice to make informed decisions,” said Beth Deutscher, Executive Director. “It’s all about ensuring that our clients are successful as they go through the homebuying process,” Beth said. “And that’s where the experts at the HomeOwnership Center come in.”
