It’s that time of year again! Some look forward with anticipation to frosty nights with hot chocolate and a fire burning bright, and crisp days crunching through red leaves on the ground. Some look forward with moans about ice, snow, and bitter cold.
The question many homeowners have is, Why should I sell in Winter? Wouldn’t it be better to wait for Spring?
There are many good reasons to keep your home on the market through the Fall and Winter months!
--First of all, the buyers that look at your home are going to be more serious. In spring there are many browsers out there, just “getting an idea” of what they want. There may be fewer buyers looking but those who are looking need a home.
--Many sellers have the idea of “wait until spring” so there are fewer houses available which drives the demand up and creates high prices. You might get more for your home in the winter.
--The transaction time might be quicker as well, due to fewer demands on the Mortgage Company.
--Plus, it makes decorating for the holidays more rewarding. It is fun to show your warm cozy home when it is decorated!
--Another reason is that it gives you a jump on the Spring Market. There are early shoppers for whatever reason, be it a transfer or something else.
--If you are wanting to sell, consider the winter months as a warm up to selling your home- no pun intended!
